Key Responsibilities:
Transactional Expertise: Manage a variety of commercial real estate transactions, focusing on large loan financing. You'll draft and negotiate loan documents, purchase and sale agreements, and other essential contracts.
Title and Survey Review: Conduct thorough title examinations and survey reviews, identifying potential issues or risks with real estate properties, and providing strategic advice to clients based on findings.
Due Diligence: Oversee comprehensive due diligence investigations, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and identifying any potential liabilities in real estate transactions.
Client Counseling: Work closely with clients to understand their goals, offering business-oriented and strategic legal advice that supports their commercial real estate projects.
Transaction Management: Manage the full life cycle of real estate transactions, from initial negotiations through to closing, ensuring that deadlines and requirements are met seamlessly.
Research and Analysis: Stay current with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends related to commercial real estate financing, title, and survey matters, providing innovative legal solutions to complex challenges.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior associates and support staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Collaboration: Work alongside other practice groups (such as finance, tax, and corporate) to provide holistic legal services to clients with diverse needs.
Client Development: Participate in business development activities, such as client presentations, networking events, and industry conferences, to build relationships and grow the client base.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the state bar and in good standing
At least 7 years of experience in commercial real estate law, specifically large loan financing and title and survey work
Proven experience in managing complex real estate transactions and solving intricate legal challenges
Strong understanding of real estate financing mechanisms, including debt and equity structures
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities
Leadership skills and a collaborative team approach
Client-focused with a track record of building and maintaining long-term relationships
