Basil Family Dealerships is hiring a Dealership General Manager!

Job summary:
The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance and operation of the dealership, ensuring profitability, employee satisfaction, and exceptional customer experience. The role oversees all departments including sales, service, parts and finance, ensuring all alignment with company goals and standards.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of all dealership departments to ensure profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets, service goals, and overall business objectives.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and dealership reputation within the community.
  • Monitor financial performance including gross profit, expenses, and net profit and implement actions as needed.
  • Train, develop and manage department managers to ensure high-performing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and dealership policies.
  • Develop and maintain vendor and manufacturer relationships to optimize operations and incentives.
  • Lead regular management meetings to drive accountability, communication and goal alignment.
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment for all employees.
  • Assist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions.
  • Ensure proper follow-up of all prospective buyers by developing implementing and monitoring a CRM system.
  • Establish delivery procedures and ensure delivery includes an introduction to the service department and scheduling of the first service appointment.
  • Forecast goals and objectives on a monthly and annual basis.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ automotive management experience, preferably at the GM or GSM level.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of dealership operations, financial statements and inventory management.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective business strategies.

You must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, be able to undergo a background check, drug test, and physical per NYS standards.

This role operates in a dealership setting, requiring frequent movement between departments, interaction with customers and staff and extended hours as needed, including Saturdays.
